Ames Local Section


The object of the Section of the American Chemical Society is the encouragement and advancement of chemistry in all its branches, the increase and diffusion of chemical knowledge, the promotion of scientific interests and inquiry, and the stimulation of the professional interest and promotion of the well-being of its members.

Midwest Women Chemists Retreat - July 27-29

The ACS Ames Local Section is supporting the 2018 Midwest Women Chemists Retreat. This event is an excellent opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to grow professionally and to develop strategies to address challenges that especially impact women in scientific careers. The retreat will be held Fri.-Sun., July 27-29, at Luther College in Decorah, IA, and 50 attendees from Ph.D. granting programs across the midwest are anticipated.
